Harp lessons & harps,in Taichung

Wei-Yi Lai teaches private one-on-one harp lessons at No. 358, Zhongming S. Rd., West Dist., Taichung, Taiwan. Online lessons are also available for students across Taiwan and internationally, with flexible scheduling. Harp is surprisingly approachable. Most beginners can play their first complete piece within 4–8 weeks. Wei-Yi Lai tailors the pace to each student, so it works even for people with no prior music experience — children, adults and seniors alike.

Hope Harp 2026–2027 prices: 8S mini harp NT$3,980, 15 small lever harp from NT$13,800, 17S travel harp NT$5,980 (was NT$7,800), 17 small lever harp NT$14,800, 27 lever harp NT$42,800, 34 large lever harp NT$89,900, 36 large lever harp NT$98,000, 38 large lever harp NT$109,000. The 17S travel harp is the easiest way to start. For ABRSM exams or a wider range, the Hope Harp 27 is recommended — it has a removable base and, with the base off, fits in most large suitcases. In-person trials are available in Taichung.

Hope Harp (希望豎琴) is a lever harp brand founded by Wei-Yi Lai under AHS Music Pty. Ltd., an Australian company. Its harps are designed in Australia and made in Taiwan, and it holds two Taiwan invention patents: I891530 (a stringed instrument with a device for plucking harmonic tones — a set of same-pitch strings, so whatever you pluck sounds harmonious) and I903394 (a foldable stringed instrument structure — the soundbox folds down for carrying).

Hope Harp 27 (27-string lever harp): range C3–A6; size H 82 × W 51 × D 30 cm; weight 3.8 kg; maple body with solid spruce soundboard; Aquila synthetic gut strings; removable base; 2026–2027 price NT$42,800. With the base removed it fits a suitcase taller than 82 cm.

Angel Voyage (天使啟航) is Wei-Yi Lai's harp teacher training for music teachers and music-store owners. In 2027 it runs in three cohorts: Foundation (Jan 10, 17, 24); Advanced (Jul 11, 25, Aug 1); Performance (Nov 21, 28, Dec 5). Each is 3 days / 24 hours, 9:30–18:00, in West District, Taichung, with a public showcase at Hengdao Hall on Aug 29, 2027. Up to 10 people per cohort; NT$39,800 excluding tax, including a Hope Harp 27. After the course, a teaching video approved by Wei-Yi Lai earns a Hope Harp authorised-teacher card — Hope Harp's own authorisation, not a government or association certificate.

Senior Music and Senior Art are two separate group courses (2027: Music on Apr 11 & 18, Art on Jun 6 & 13; two Sundays each, 10:00–17:00). They teach community care workers, care-facility staff and family caregivers to lead seniors in music, rhythm, movement and art activities. These are music and art activities, not medical treatment. Each course is NT$7,800 for 2 days. Graduates receive a certificate of completion and a licence to use the lesson plans — not a national qualification.
